Virtual college fairs are a great way to touch base with a lot of colleges to see what they offer from the comfort of your home or desk at school. It’s fun because the admissions representatives are available to answer your questions right away. If you treat them just like an in-person college fair, you can answer a lot of questions in just a couple of hours. Another advantage is that your parents can sit in also!
Visit as many schools as possible, and even include a few that you don’t think will interest you. It may surprise you and give you options for Plan C if the Plan A and Plan B don’t work out.
Know what the three most important things are to you and make sure you ask about those. Is it location? Classroom size? Graduation rates? Majors? Extracurricular activities? Scholarships? Public transportation? The list can go on and on–but choose at least three that you want to ask each booth you visit so you can start comparing.
The colleges you visit with collect your information. You will be able to click on their booth within Career Compass and follow up with any questions you have.
